What do I do if I see this warning when I start the Monitor Station? "Warning the IP Server is not connected"

Solution:

1. The command and data ports must be open between the Monitor Station and the IP Server machine. By default these are set to ports 4010 and 4011.

  1. Verify that the Windows Firewall on the server has had an exception made for 4010 and 4011 or has been turned off completely. You can find the Windows Firewall settings in the Windows Control Panel.
  2. If connecting to the server from an external location, ports 4010 and 4011 must be forwarded in the router or firewall at the server location. If you are unsure how to do this, consult your IT or Network Administrator.

2. Verify that the service is started on the IP Server machine.

  1. On the Server, locate the Server Manager icon on the task bar in the lower right corner near your Windows clock.
  2. Right click the Server Manager and choose "Start Service."

3. The IP address used to connect to the service must be the same one that the service is being told to use in the Network Options of the server.

  1. On the Server, locate the Server Manager icon on the task bar in the lower right corner near your Windows clock.
  2. Right click the Server Manager and choose "Server Configuration."
