The Analog CCTV DVR Diskspace Calculator is a free tool that allows you to determine how many days of video can be stored on your CCTV DVR, or determines how much storage is needed in order to archive the number of days, as specified. Options allow you to specify the number of security cameras, number of frames per second to record, and varying methods/ modes of video compression such as WMV, M-JPEG, and MPEG4.

What's This?Day Calculator:
Select the Day Calculator if you would like to find out how many days of video you can archive with the amount of storage available.
Storage Calculator
Select the Storage Calculator to find out how much storage is needed in order to archive a specified amount of days.
Capture Device:
What's This?Select which capture device you will be using. This determines how many channels and the maximum FPS will be available.
Maximum Channels:
What's This?Select the total amount of cameras that will be connected to the system. This determines how many frames will be available per channel.
Maximum FPS:
What's This?Select the amount of frames per second to be configured per camera. Higher frame rates will require more storage and bandwidth.
Compression Type:
What's This?Select your desired compression type. The compression type determines the size of each frame.
Record Type:
What's This?Select how video should be recorded. Selecting "Record Always" will record video at all times, regardless of motion activity. "Motion Only" will record only when motion activity is detected, based on your motion settings.
Motion Percentage:
What's This?When selecting "Motion Only" you will need to provide an approximate amount of motion expected per day. To simplify this, you can use the "Scenario" drop-down to select common motion levels.
