Video Insight Support | IP Server Motion Detection
The IP server displays and stores images received from the IP cameras. These images are compressed at the camera therefore saving the server processing time. Many cameras have built in motion detection and only send images to the server that need to be saved, once again saving the server from this process. However if the IP Server needs to do its own Motion Detection, the Server will be doing a significant amount of work. Take the following items into consideration as you configure your system. If you have any other issues, please contact technical support.
Motion Detection Settings:
To fine turn your motion recording, double click on the Motion Settings Icon. This very useful display shows you graphically what the system is detecting as motion. Depending on your settings, you can have motion that is not significant enough to turn the motion indicator "Red". You can adjust the settings and get real time response to fine turn your recording.
- Sensitivity - Inside each square, the higher the sensitivity, the smaller the change necessary to set off recording. Adjusting the slide bar to the left makes it more sensitive.
- % Area Change - over the entire image, this is the percentage of the area that is required to change before the system keeps the image. Otherwise it is discarded.
- Square Size - depending on what you are recording, you can adjust the size of the square
- Sample Interval - is the frequency used to get reference frames.
