Chief Executive Officer and seasoned start-up entrepreneur Rob Shaw co-founded Video Insight in 2002 with business partner James Whitcomb.

Their mission: to develop a powerful, robust and easy-to-use software platform that would provide customers an alternative to traditional DVR's. Since its inception, Video insight has grown from a start-up to providing sophisticated video surveillance solutions for thousands of satisfied customers. Video Insight has proudly boasted a 40 percent IP software revenue growth per year since its founding.

Prior to Video Insight, Shaw co-founded leading internet luxury goods retailer Ashford.com which completed an initial public offering in 1999 led by Godman Sachs & Co. Shaw served as Ashford.com Chairman of the Board from its inception until it was acquired by GSI Commerce in 2002. Shaw founded Synergy Development Corporation in 1989 serving as President and CEO until the successful sale of the company to E-partners. Synergy Development Corp. was regarded as one of the world's largest and most successful channel partners for Great Plans Software, a channel-only ERP software company sold to Microsoft in 2000.

As a young entrepreneur, Shaw served as Vice President of Sales and Finance for StyleWare, Inc., an award-winning software development company (Apple II and Macintosh platforms). Shaw and his two StyleWare partners grew their businesss from a college dorm to a 55-employee industry-leading company that was bought by Apple before it was less than three years in existence.

Selected as Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year (2000), Shaw currently serves on the board of directors of two other software industry boards. He graduated from the University of St. Thomas in 1989.

Chief Technology Officer James Whitcomb oversees all aspects of technology, product development and strategy for Video Insight. Whitcomb and longtime business partner Rob Shaw co-founded Video Insight as a start-up in 2002 to provide an easy-to-use yet technologically sophisticated video surveillance product.

As the company has grown to include thousands of customers, Whitcomb has worked to ensure that the Video Insight software product is continuously updated to meet the ever-changing demands of the end-user and to accommodate the dozens of technology camera and hardware manufacturers. Whitcomb is called upon to provide analysis and has authored video surveillance trade publication articles. His in-depth technology experiences along with his loss prevention and customer service background have provided a great foundation for Video Insight.

Prior to Video Insight, Whitcomb and business partner Shaw co-founded Ashford.com a NASDAQ listed public e-commerce retailer of luxury goods with annual sales topping $60 million. Whitcomb deployed an early DVR system that monitored the 40,000 square-foot Ashford jewelry warehouse and recorded daily package shipments, tying them to customer service records for a complete detailed history. Whitcomb also cofounded Synergy Development (another endeavor with business partner Shaw), serving as CIO of the company which provided custom solutions for large enterprises including Pulte Homes and Fleetwod Retail until it was purchased by Microsoft in 2000.

Whitcomb has been honored with the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year (2000), the University of Houston Business School Future 500 Award (2001), and the Better Business Torch Award for Excellent Customer Service (2002). He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin
